Nesting Loggerhead

Sea turtle nesting season runs from about May through October in Florida. On a warm summer evening in June, a female loggerhead sea turtle comes ashore to dig a hole in the sand and deposit her eggs. The young male hatchlings, if they survive the trip back to the water, will never be on dry land again. One can witness many nesting events along the Treasure Coast in southeastern Florida on a warm summer night at the beach.
