One can witness many nesting events along the Treasure Coast in southeastern Florida on a warm summer night at the beach. One evening in June I observed four or five such events with in hours.
Sea turtle nesting season runs from about May through October in Florida. Here a female loggerhead sea turtle comes ashore to dig a hole in the sand and deposit her eggs. The young male hatchlings, if they survive the trip back to the water, will never be on dry land again
