I am an artist, and nature photographer living in Hobe Sound , Florida.  Hobe Sound is just north of Jupiter, and south of Stuart on the east coast of Florida.  I find the natural world a fascinating study. I try to capture images of a time that is slipping away.  The changing landscape all across our country, especially in my home state of Florida, and Martin County, is also of great interest to me.   The smaller regional feel to the American landscape is disappearing and becoming more homogeneous.  The computer and a bit of imaging software is such a great tool to create, and or enhance images. The original film is scanned into the computer.  The photography is then enhanced using digital imaging software.  I occasionally will draw or paint part of the artwork and then scan that into the computer to incorporate it into my pieces.  I also use a digital painting technique in which I can paint and draw directly in the computer.

I was born in Chicago, Illinois on what might have been one of the very few warm summer days that occurred there that year. However I don’t know what the temperature was that day as I was far too young to remember. Our family moved to St. Louis, Missouri when I was twelve.  We were heading south which seemed to me to be a step in the right direction.  In 1975 I received a bachelors degree in music from Webster University in St. Louis.  I knew I needed to seek a still warmer climate and I made my way further south to Florida.  I have now lived more years in Florida  than any other place that I have lived.
